An Interview with David J: By Lisa King, Brick Store Pub, ATL, 9/21/16
A stream-of-consciousness interview with David J of Bauhaus/Love and Rockets, conducted by Lisa King at The Brick Store Pub, in Atlanta, Ga. on September 21, 2016 after a "mini-tour" of Atlanta and Athens. Lisa's band The Hot Place opened up 5 Living Room Shows with David J, in Feb, June, and Sept of 2016. Lisa's unique interview style is inspired by André Breton's pure psychic automatism and automatic writing, the taped audio work of Andy Warhol, and the trance states of Aleister Crowley. The subject is asked to repeat and respond to random words or phrases. This surrealist free-form style of interview allows for a very intimate and unconventional moment to be shared by both the listener and the artist. The drawings, questions, and movie in the embedded YouTube video were made by Lisa King, specifically to accompany the interview.
You can view the drawings that were created for the interview, HERE.
David and Lisa originally had a similar interview exchange backstage at the Echo Lounge in Atlanta, GA in 2002, which was arranged in 3 parts: In person, by email, and by phone. You can read the entire first interview HERE.

This 2016 interview at The Brick Store Pub was conducted 14 years later, and the exchange continues into the great beyond! A transcript will eventually be made available on this page.
